In June 2016, Ince & Co’s Three Peaks Challenge team travelled up to Glasgow to take on the three peaks – covering Scotland, England and Wales in the space of 24 hours. They experienced bright (if ever so slightly too hot) sunshine and blue skies at Ben Nevis, a misty (and a bit of a sleepy) climb up Helvellyn at 4am looking down onto the Lakes, and finished in perfectly British conditions – torrential rain and howling winds on Snowdon.

Celebrations in Liverpool followed and, having met some great people over the weekend, it was a lovely end to a very physically challenging experience.

Alongside the achievement of conquering Ben Nevis, Helvellyn and Snowdon the team managed to raise a huge £7,451.39!

Collectively, the total fundraised by all of the teams which participated in the Challenge this year on behalf of the Sailors’ Society raised an incredible £159,209.03 which means 36 new homes for seafarers and their families in the Philippines to replace those destroyed in the devastating Typhoon Haiyan in 2013.

The team were very grateful to everyone who supported their fundraising efforts, with a special mention to the Charity Committee who allowed them to host many events and whose generous donation helped them to reach and surpass their initial fundraising target. Ince & Co staff supported by baking or eating cakes from bake sales, purchasing raffle tickets, bidding in our Silent Auction or donating through our JustGiving page.
